Timeless Tranquility: DIY Luxury Spa Inspirations for Home

Beauty By Supreet Kaur

Social media not only affects our fashion behaviour but also impacts our lifestyle, be it in a good or bad way. In this time of consumerist culture, where everyone is running behind materialistic and fancy hair and skin treatments, DIY luxury has found its way through and, to an extent, is one of the most buzzing trends right now.

Not only common people but even superstars are trying viral DIY recipes at home, promoting the idea of quiet luxury—not everything has to be big and flashy; some things are meant to be nourishing and intentional. Here, we are going to talk about some of the viral DIY luxury recipes that have proven to be promising and deserve to be tried by everyone at least once.

  1. The scalp elixir

The rosemary–clove hair growth water is everywhere on Instagram and TikTok, and people are actually showing their before-and-after results. If you also want to try this viral hair water, you only need rosemary leaves, mint leaves, and some cloves. Boil them in water, let it cool down, and pour it into a spray bottle. Use it daily on your scalp and massage for five minutes after applying it. Reviews suggest that it reduces hair fall and increases the growth of baby hair.

    2. The espresso glow

The coffee body scrub has become an “everything shower” essential for all of us. You only need coffee beans, sugar, and coconut oil to achieve glowing and healthy skin. If you want to add extra glow, you can use honey along with it. Just mix all these ingredients until it becomes a grainy mixture and apply it to your body, especially on darker areas. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. It helps remove dead skin and improves blood circulation.

    3.  Honey gold therapy

Our evergreen haldi–honey mask never goes out of trend—the ‘it’ Indian recipe passed down through generations of our ancestors, always giving instant results. For those who still don’t know what I am talking about, it’s the haldi mask used by almost every Indian before any event, be it attending a wedding or your own. You only have to mix haldi and honey to achieve skin-brightening and anti-inflammatory effects. If you want to DIY it further, you can also add a tablespoon of yogurt, depending on your skin type.

    4. The dew calm mask

Summer is approaching, and so is our skin giving us signals to do something about it. The cucumber–aloe vera face gel helps keep your skin calm and hydrated. Blended cucumber and aloe vera gel are enough to make this mixture.

    5. Smooth girl mask

I am done trying frizz-free shampoos and hair spas—they work temporarily, but the frizz never goes away permanently. But then I came across this banana hair mask; it works slowly but permanently. The Smooth Girl Hair Mask is achieved by mixing one blended banana, one tablespoon of honey, and one teaspoon of your daily oil. Apply it to your hair, massage for 10–15 minutes, and rinse with lukewarm water. The results are not instant but are promising enough to keep going.

    6.Glass curl gel

If you have curly hair and always want a little styling before going out but don’t want to use heavy chemicals or curling machines, don’t worry—the flaxseed hair mask can be used both ways, as a hair mask and as a hair serum. You only have to boil some flaxseeds until it becomes slightly thick and gel-like, strain it immediately, let it cool down, and pour it into a spray bottle to use whenever you go out. It helps in defining your curls and reduces frizziness.

    7. The wine facial

Grapes are not only used for eating and drinking—it’s more than that. The trending wine mask proves grapes to be an essential part of our daily routine. To achieve glass-like skin, you only need 5–6 crushed grapes and one tsp of honey. Mix it, apply gently on your skin, massage for some time, and wash it with lukewarm water after 15 minutes—and you are done.

    Conclusion

The mindset of people has shifted from just blindly consuming to closely observing what they are putting into their skin and hair. This not only helps us as individuals but also highlights the importance of daily essentials that are always around us yet often go unnoticed.
In this age of excess luxury, there are still some people who believe in the idea of quiet luxury and intentional care.
