The Ultimate Guide to Mindful Beauty Routines for Wellness

The Ultimate Guide to Mindful Beauty Routines for Wellness

Beauty By Supreet Kaur

..Beauty has been with us since ages; it is not something that is ‘trendy’ now.

From the times of the early Vedic era to the contemporary world now, it has always carried a deep sentiment within people, and it did not have any limitations before.

Earlier, it was believed to be beautiful both inside and outside, but with the gifts of nature and  through a barter system — that is, what we take is what we give back to nature in some or another way. But as we moved forward, the definition of beauty really took a leap ,  now , prioritising looking beautiful more from the outside and being selfish enough to think about ourselves and taking everything from nature matters more .

But time is always evolving, and so is the world. Currently , we are in an era where people are realising their mistakes and are ready to take the necessary steps for both the worlds. The one inside and outside of being beautiful, and the other, the natural world. And that is when beauty routines become an essential part of living. Here, I am going to tell you some of the routines that are focused on one’s wellness, both inside and outside, and are also not affecting the universe.

Skinimalism

The fact that ‘less is more’ is taking up its presence in the space left in the beauty and skincare world.

Skinimalism refers to the practice of minimising the use of complicated, long to-do lists of skincare products and prioritising only essential products in the skincare routine.

With time, people are becoming more aware of what’s healthy and unhealthy for their skin, and they have stopped buying everything that is marketed online, promising the unpromised.

It helps people in saving up their money and investing only in essentials, hence improving the quality of life and discouraging impulsive buying and buyers, and taking us on the route of slow fashion.

Soft productivity through routines

Productivity does not necessarily always mean earning well, learning skills, or being an asset to society. This fast-paced world has changed the psychology of our race, making us believe that only being hard on ourselves and having a capitalist mindset is the only validated productivity, but this is not true.

Sometimes, prioritising our health and happiness over these practices helps us even more to glow and grow. Both internally and externally. This notion is known as soft productivity. Soft productivity refers to following routines, hobbies, and sometimes taking a day off. Or, even days off, from this world and just being there wholly. And this helps in focusing on our wellness and not running after perfection.

As history repeats itself, this is the time again when we are opting towards the recipes once transcribed in manuscripts. These are given by our ancestors and have always proved to be right.

Some of the very common recipes are like mixing turmeric and honey for acne control and brightening skin. Mixing multani mitti and rose water cleans face pores. A paste of raw milk and besan acts as a cleanser. It helps in tan removal. These are some of the quick recipes that can be achieved at home. There are many more that benefit our health and skin in many ways without affecting nature.

Hydration

Drinking water has been so underrated, but it deserves a shoutout. Just drinking fresh water benefits us in so many ways. Now you may think — what if we add nutrient-rich ingredients to it, like chia seeds, lemon, or fruits? How will that help us? Water not only has health advantages, but it is also recognised as a wellness routine. This helps us look charming and radiant.

How to rethink beauty?

Beauty is not about looking good, but feeling good. It is not about spending money, but investing money. These routines help you exist wholly — nurturing both mind and heart — reminding us that true beauty is experienced, not created. If you are struggling with meeting the beauty mantras, go basic. Follow homemade practices and get that shimmery skin beautiful both inside and out.
